The Olympic Blanket

Olympiajoukkueen tilkkupeittovahvistus osallistuu hankkeeseen luonnollisesti tekemällä tilkkupeiton. Eikä minkä tahansa peiton vaan olympiapallopeiton. Varusteet näet tässä (lankaa kuluu toki enemmän), ja alla poseeraa Suomen joukkue valmiina koitokseen.

My contribution to the Knitting Winter Olympics is - surprise surprise - a blanket. But not any plain old blanket. I'm knitting the Olympic Blanket. As you can see, my yarn and needles are ready for the challenge. Lurking under my stash is the Finnish team ready for glory and success.



Olympiajoukkueen tilkkupeittovahvistus on pysytellyt tiukasti aikataulussa. Ensimmäisestä eli sinisestä olympiarenkaasta on nyt valmiina vähän yli puolet. Peiton renkaista tulee tosin kulmikkaat, sillä intarsia tai muu hifistely ei huvita. Laiskuus voitti tarkkuuden, mutta idea välittynee kulmista huolimatta?

It's the day 2 and I'm progressing in spite of the flu. Here is the first half (plus some) of the first olympic ring, the blue one. Did you know that the five rings represent the five major regions of the world: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania? And did you notice that the ring is a bit angulated? You can blame my lazyness and my hatred for intarsia.
